Contacted in regards to a project on my home. Never showed up for consultation, or bothered to call and let me know that they would be missing. Wasted my lunch break waiting around.
Got a roofing quote from Inside & Out Construction, and thought it would be prudent to get a second from Simms for comparison. He was recommended by my insurance agent. The Inside & Out quote beat Simms, and they talked to me more about their work. Roofs are their specialty. So I went with Inside & Out. Simms called me back 3 weeks later, and I told him hi didn't get the bid. Three days later, I got a bill from Simms for $125 "Minimum Estimating Labor"!!!! No "Charges for Estimating" were ever mentioned or disclosed. Makes me wonder what other suprises I would have had if I had given them the job!!!
Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but if someone is going to blow off your first meeting, what happens when you have a problem down the road with their workmanship...
