Car died on a Sunday night while traveling in the countryside. Towed into Marshalltown. Called shops on Monday morning, and Helfer said they could look at it by 1pm if I could get the car there.
I've been to Helfer's several times and I always leave feeling well taken care of. The last time the owner John and his head mechanic Eric were able to fix a problem for about $150 that another garage had given up on. The owner is always straight-forward about the cost. I send everyone to Helfer's and have never heard one complaint. Highly recommended.
I Went in Because my car would not turn over. They Found the problem in like 45 minutes and it a a small relay fuse worth 50 cents. Most expensive places charge 70 and hour for labor they charged me 85$ for that what a Rip off seriously
Another tow, and was there by 10am. Ten minutes later, they jumped the car and moved it inside. Found a dead alternator, as I suspected. Called for several prices, and astutely asked what auto parts stores were in my home area, for warranty purposes. Drove away by 11:15.
Excellent service, especially for a non-regular customer. Very satisfied.
